Preparation
Spray Tanning
Getting ready for your spray tan appointment is crucial to achieving the perfect glow. Follow these simple steps in the days leading up to your session for the best results.
Preparing For Your Spray Tan:
- Exfoliate: A day or two before your appointment, gently exfoliate your skin using a scrub or loofah. This helps remove dead skin cells, ensuring a smooth surface for the tanning solution to adhere to.
- Hydrate: Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Moisturized skin holds onto the tan better and ensures a more even application.
- Shave or Wax: If you prefer to shave or wax, do so at least 24 hours before your spray tan appointment. This allows any potential irritation to subside and ensures a flawless tan application.
- Avoid Moisturizers and Oils: On the day of your appointment, refrain from applying moisturizers, oils, or lotions to your skin. These products can create a barrier that prevents the tanning solution from penetrating evenly.
- Remove Makeup and Deodorant: Before your appointment, remove all makeup, deodorant, and skincare products from your skin. These products can interfere with the tanning solution and may result in uneven coloration.
- Wear Dark, Loose-Fitting Clothing: Choose dark-colored, loose-fitting clothing to wear to your appointment. Tight clothing can rub against the skin and cause streaks, while dark colors help mask any potential staining from the tanning solution.
- Bring Appropriate Under Garments: If desired, bring along protective garments such as disposable underwear, dark bathing suit, or hair caps to wear during the spray tanning session for added comfort and convenience.
- Plan Your Timing: Schedule your spray tan appointment at least 24 hours before any special events or activities where you want to show off your tan. This allows the tan to fully develop and ensures you look your best.
- Prepare Your Skin: Take a shower before your appointment, but avoid using any bar soaps or body washes that contain oils or moisturizers. Opt for a gentle, oil-free cleanser to ensure your skin is clean and ready for tanning.
