After Care
Spray Tanning
To ensure that your tan develops fully and lasts as long as possible, please follow these aftercare instructions.
Preparing For Your Spray Tan:
- Wait Before Showering: Avoid showering or bathing for at least 8-12 hours after your spray tan session. This allows the tanning solution to fully develop and set on your skin.
- Avoid Water Activities: Refrain from swimming, hot tubs, or any activities that may cause excessive sweating for the first 8-12 hours after your spray tan. Water can interfere with the development of your tan and may cause streaking.
- Use Gentle Cleansers: When you do shower, use a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser to avoid stripping away the tan. Pat your skin dry with a towel rather than rubbing, as rubbing can cause the tan to fade unevenly.
- Moisturize Daily: Hydrated skin retains a tan better, so moisturize your skin daily with an oil-free lotion. Pay special attention to dry areas like elbows, knees, and ankles to prevent patchiness.
- Avoid Exfoliation: Avoid exfoliating your skin for the first few days after your spray tan. Exfoliation can cause the tan to fade more quickly.
- Avoid Bar Soaps: Steer clear of bar soaps and products containing sulfates, as these can strip away your tan. Opt for gentle, sulfate-free cleansers instead.
- Avoid Tight Clothing: Wear loose-fitting clothing to prevent rubbing and minimize the risk of the tan rubbing off onto clothing.
- Patience is Key: Your tan will continue to develop over the next 24 hours. Don't be alarmed if it looks lighter immediately after your session – the color will deepen as it develops.
